Is Melio really free to use?
Yes. There is no monthly subscription fee or signup cost. Standard ACH-to-ACH bank transfers are $0. Melio makes money through "value-added" services, such as paying via credit card (2.9% fee) or requesting expedited "Fast" payments.
How can I pay a vendor who only accepts checks?
This is one of Melio’s best features. You pay Melio digitally via bank transfer or credit card, and Melio sends a physical paper check to your vendor on your behalf. Your vendor doesn't even need a Melio account to get paid.
Do I earn credit card rewards on business payments?
Yes. When you choose to pay a bill via your business credit card through Melio, the transaction is processed as a purchase. This allows you to earn points, miles, or cash back while extending your float for up to 45 days.
Does Melio sync with my accounting software?
Yes, Melio features a two-way sync with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, and FreshBooks. This ensures your books are always up to date and eliminates the need for manual data entry.
What is the minimum payment requirement?
While there is no strict minimum for standard payments, to unlock the full range of account benefits and promotional features, an initial payment of $500 or more is recommended for new business accounts.
